Computer Tech Explore - Students continued working on their websites by learning the basics of HTML in a self paced manner using Davesite, watched a video on HTML and were given an introduction to the HTML unit and shown example websites to model what they will be learning over the next 3 weeks.
Pre-Algebra - Scientific Notation. Today students started a new unit on Scientific Notation. This is related to the last unit and continues students understanding and problem solving with positive and negative exponents. Students took notes on scientific notation, were given a new packet and asked to copy down solutions to 8 problems that were modeled on the board which are similar to their homework assignment problems. HW - complete problems 4-9, 13-15, and 17-27 in the Scientific Notation Packet
8th Grade Science - Density. The Candy Bar Density Lab from yesterday was discussed and reviewed. A demonstration on the different densities of liquids was shown to students and then an introduction to todays lab was reviewed. Students were then split into groups of 2-3 and allowed to calculate the density of water by measuring the volume of differing amounts of water and measuring the mass of each volume. NO HW
7th Grade Science - Classifications, Microscopes and Cells. The practice test from yesterday was corrected, and students had the opportunity to copy down the correct answers so they can use their practice test as a study guide for the actual test on Friday. HW - study for the upcoming test on Cells, Organelle Functions, Classifying Living Things, and Microscopes
